  • The Great Sand Dunes NP, Colorado. Changes every moment as the wind blows and sculpts the sand into endless waves and designs. The slowly setting sun also makes every capture different from one of just moments earlier. The tiny dots in the upper right are not dust spots on the sensor, they are the VERY intrepid people who have CLIMBED TO THE TOP in the wind, altitude and soft, shifting sand.

  • This sunset image at the Rio Grande River Gorge bridge is not of clouds, but of smoke wafting over the desert from a range fire a few miles away. Gray and unexciting to the naked eye, this color was only visible after oversaturating the image.
