  • West Prong Little Pigeon River between Sugarlands and Gatlinburg. This trail is called the Gatlinburg Trail and goes from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to Gatlinburg. Very easy hike. Some glow added to enhance the sense of cold...but it was cold!

  • This stretch of stream is on the lower Tremont road (before you reach Tremont Institute) and very near the road which is actually visible in upper right curving into the distance. Long, long exposure (20 sec. at f22, ISON 100). I used a variable neutral density filter to acheive the long exposure. No photography visit to the Smokies is complete without a visit to the Tremont area. Beautiful stream scenes beside the road and the rarely seen, but truely beautiful, Spruce Flat Falls with the trail head at the Tremont Institute.

  • One final image on the way home on Sunday morning from the first overlook from Newfound Gap on the North Carolina side. Anyone know the name of this overlook please let me know. Found it...Oconaluftee Overlook.

  • Dad on the porch of the Ownby cabin which has been moved to this site on the nature trail behind the Sugarlands Ranger Station. About a 1/2 mile hike (easy) from the visitor's center.

  • This bear carving is on Hwy 321 very near the Greenbrier entrance to the park. I have passed it many times but never chose to take a photo until now. Greatly enhanced by the snow.
